In August 2010 my mother, Christel
Bucksch, visited Kenya for the fourth time to teach patchwork in Kamuthanga, a small
settlement south of Nairobi. Her friend, Dr. Ruth Mwangangi-Gerlach grew up in
that region and is still supporting a sewing school there, even after living
in Freising for many years now. The school has neither electricity nor
running water. With help of many donations she has succeeded in providing the
local students with treadle-sewing machines, fabric and tools. Since the last donations
had reached Kamuthanga in 2007,
the need for new supplies was very big and we appreciate every support you
have given us. My mother and Dr. Ruth Mwangangi-Gerlach delivered all items personally and thus helped impoverished women to gain a
perspective in life. Should you have questions or need further
information, please do not hesitate to contact c.bucksch@elfinet.de
